      Historic Latta Plantation is a circa 1800 cotton plantation and living history farm, located within Latta Plantation Nature Preserve.  Tours of the Latta home are guided, and tours of the grounds are self-guided.

Upcoming Events

August 23 (10am-4pm)- 24(1-4pm), 2008 Civil War Infantry  Civil War Soldiers on the grounds providing demonstrations, talking about camp life, and more.  Regular admission applies: $6 for adults $5 for seniors (62+) and students, ages 5 and under are free.

September 6 (10am-4pm)-7 (11am-4pm), 2008 Revolutionary War Reenactment!  See how Charlotteans defended their independence when Cornwallis came through the area!  On Saturday, reenactors will fight the Battle of Charlotte, which originally occurred at the corner of Trade and Tryon Streets.  Sunday will feature the Battle of McIntyre Farm, which took place a few miles from Latta, off Beatties Ford Road.  Visitors can shop with period sutlers, see the soldier camps, enjoy numerous demonstrations, and take in a hot meal with the food vendor.  The main battle will be at 1:00pm each day!  Admission is $7 per person, ages 5 and under are free.

September 17, 2008 (10am-4pm) Fall Homeschool Day Living history day set aside for homeschoolers of all ages.  See period demonstrations, tour the plantation, make crafts, and much more!  Admission is $5 per person, ages 4 and under free.

September 27, 2008 (10am-4pm)  Boy Scout Living History Day  Living history day set aside for boy scouts of all ages.  Scouts can learn fire starting, woodworking, natural plants and medicines, cooking over a fire, and much more!  Admission is $6 per person, ages 4 and under free.
